About Andrea Plata
Andrea Plata focuses her practice on consumer litigation in both state and federal courts, representing clients in matters involving defective vehicles, manufacturer accountability, and consumer rights. Her background gives her a strategic advantage that many plaintiff-side attorneys do not have: she has worked on both sides of lemon law litigation.
Before representing consumers, Andrea practiced defense-side litigation on behalf of manufacturers and dealers in lemon law matters. That experience gave her valuable insight into how automakers, dealerships, and their legal teams evaluate claims, build defenses, and approach settlement strategy. Today, she uses that knowledge to better advocate for consumers and anticipate the arguments they may face throughout the litigation process.
Andrea’s commitment to consumer advocacy began during law school, where she dedicated significant time to working at a plaintiff’s lemon law firm in Los Angeles. That early experience helped shape her understanding of the real frustration consumers face when they are stuck with unreliable vehicles and feel ignored by manufacturers.
A graduate of UC Merced and Loyola Law School, Andrea brings five years of legal experience to her practice. She is also fluent in Spanish, allowing her to communicate directly with Spanish-speaking clients and help ensure they feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their case.
“Having worked on both sides of lemon law litigation, I understand how manufacturers approach these cases and how to effectively advocate for consumers. My goal is to ensure every client feels heard, informed, and confident that their rights are being protected.”
